plug 'n' play definition - telecom
A reference to the ability of a computer system to automatically recognize the presence of a new peripheral hardware device, locate the necessary support software (e.g., driver), and configure the device interface. See also Plug and Play. GFI LCI Payload PTI 4 12 8 or 16 Variable bits
