OSP definition - telecom
All of the telecommunications apparatus and cable systems outside (i.e., not housed in buildings) such as central offices or customer premises. OSP includes all the components of cable systems such as the aerial, buried, and underground cables, amplifiers and repeaters, cross-connect boxes, and remote neighborhood nodes, some of which may be located in vaults or sheds.
