  2. In telecommunications, describing radio frequency (RF) signals that are independent and mutually exclusive and, therefore, avoid intersymbol interference.Thereby, a receiver can recognize a legitimate signal and reject an unwanted signal or signal element.The concept applies to orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), also known as discrete multitone (DMT).
