MPI specter

MPI specter definition - telecom
Referring to the ghosting effect, which occurs when the multiple paths of a television (TV) video signal are relatively long and when some reflected signals, therefore, arrive on a significantly delayed basis in a phenomenon known variously as multipath fading and delay spread. This ghosting effect is particularly evident in poorly installed coax-based CATV systems, and in traditional broadcast radio TV reception in mountainous areas. See also broadcast, CATV, coaxial cable, delay spread, ghosting, multipath fading, path, radio, TV, and video.
