LOH definition - telecom
In a SONET or SDH frame, overhead of 18 octets that controls the reliable transport of payload data in the Synchronous Payload Envelope (SPE) between any two network elements (NEs). LOH and Section Overhead (SOH) between adjacent NEs compose Transport Overhead (TOH). See also frame, link, octet, overhead, SDH, SOH, SONET, and TOH.
