line coding definition - telecom
The manner in which data bits, or blocks of data bits, are represented on a line. Examples include 4B3T, 4B/5B, alternate mark inversion (AMI), and Manchester. See also 4B3T, 4B/5B, AMI, Manchester coding, and quadbit.
