harmonic distortion definition - telecom
Nonlinear distortion characterized by the output of harmonics in a signal waveform that do not correspond with the input signal waveform. Harmonic distortion is caused by an amplifier, transducer, or other element that malfunctions. See also distortion, harmonic, and noise.
