goldenrod definition - telecom
A term used to describe the thick coaxial cable specified by the IEEE as 10Base5, for use in early Ethernet networks.The term was in reference to the high cost and high value of the cable, as well as the yellow cable sheath used by some manufacturers.The cable also was about as thick and inflexible as a rod.
