GFC

GFC definition - telecom
In the asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) cell header, 4 bits that provide local flow control. As intermediate ATM switches overwrite the GFC field with virtual path identifier (VPI) data, the GFC data has no significance on an end-to-end basis.
