exterior protocol definition - telecom
A protocol concerned with routing between Autonomous Systems (ASs), which are groups of routers within the same administrative domain. Exterior protocols include the Exterior Gateway Protocol (EGP) and the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP). See also BGP, domain, EGP, interior protocol, and routing.
