EIA definition - telecom
A national United States trade organization that is a partnership of electronic and high-technology associations and companies. Founded in 1924 as the Radio Manufacturers Association, the EIA is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and provides a forum for standards development in the areas of electronic components, consumer electronics, electronic information, telecommunications, and Internet security.
