dynamic address

dynamic address definition - telecom
Referring to an Internet Protocol (IP) address assigned to a host each time a connection is established, rather than being permanently assigned. Dynamic IP address assignment usually is accomplished through a router running the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) protocol, as specified in RFC 1541 and the Network Address Translation (NAT) protocol specified in RFC 3022. See also DHCP, host, IP address, NAT, router, and static address.
