DSB definition - telecom
The process of amplitude modulation (AM) results in the creation of two sidebands. An upper sideband is above the carrier frequency and a lower sideband is below the carrier frequency. DSB transmission uses both sidebands at full power. Single sideband (SSB) transmission suppresses one of the sidebands.
