Draft-Martini VPN definition - telecom
In Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), referring to a Data Link Layer (Layer 2) Virtual Private Network (VPN) so called because Luca Martini, a senior architect at Level 3 Communications, was a major contributor to the draft standard. A Draft-Martini VPN emulates a point-to-point virtual circuit connection, or pseudowire, between two routers or switches. Also commonly referred to as Pseudowire Emulation (PWE) VPN.
