A structure in the form of a frame of metal uprights and cross pieces with termination points on each side into which conductors can be mechanically connected and semi-permanent cross-connections can be made.The term generally is applied to distribution frames for twisted pair cables, with jumpers used to connect the pairs on each side of the frame.
