D1 definition - telecom
An early (1962) T1 framing convention that robbed the least significant bit (LSB) in each channel of each frame in order to insert a signaling bit. D1 is obsolete. See also bit robbing, D2, D3, D4, ESF, frame, LSB, and T1.
