continuity algorithm

continuity algorithm definition - telecom
A mathematical mechanism integral to predictive voice compression employed in packet voice technologies such as voice over frame relay (VoFR) and voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). Continuity algorithms intelligently fill the void of missing or errored voice frames and packets by stretching the previous voice frames or packets and blending several together. See also compression, VoFR, and VoIP.
