From the Latin connectere, meaning to bind together. 1. A physical joining of two or more things. 2. In telecommunications, a physical joining of two stations or nodes by a circuit, perhaps comprising multiple links. See also circuit, link, node, physical, and station. 3. A physical joining of two conductors accomplished with a mechanical splice or fusion splice. See also conductor, fusion splice, mechanical splice, and physical. 4. A logical relationship or association of two or more things.
