CERT definition - telecom
A group of experts at Carnegie-Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute responsible for overseeing security issues on the Internet. CERT was formed in 1988 by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) as an incident response team, specifically in response to the Internet Worm. See Appendix A for contact information.
