call forward
call forward definition - telecom
A feature of a key telephone system (KTS), PBX, or central office (CO) that enables a station user to forward calls to another station by one of several methods. One method allows the user to dial a feature code to forward calls from the primary, or target, station to a specific secondary station on an ad hoc basis.Another method allows the user to program the system to automatically forward calls from the primary station to the attendant station, a colleague's station, or perhaps a voice mail system after a selectable number of rings or if the station is engaged. The latter feature is commonly known as Busy/DA (Busy/Don't Answer) call forwarding.
