call extender

call extender definition - telecom
A device that allows a call center to extend an incoming call to a remote agent, perhaps a telecommuter in a home office. Such devices support integrated voice and data communications between the automatic call distributor (ACD) and the remote agent and can operate over narrowband analog or ISDN connections through the public switched telephone network (PSTN), or broadband ADSL or cable modem networks through the Internet.
