BSS definition - telecom
A carrier exchange switch capable of switching and transport at broadband speeds. A BSS typically supports multiple broadband ports with fiber optic interfaces and a highly redundant internal switching matrix. See also broadband, carrier, exchange, fiber optics, port, switch, and switch matrix.
