ARIN definition - telecom
The Regional Internet Registry (RIR) responsible for assigning Internet Protocol (IP) addresses variously to National Internet Registries (NIRs) or directly to Local Internet Registries (LIRs) in Canada, many Caribbean and North Atlantic islands, and the United States.
