angle of incidence definition - telecom
The angle at which an incoming light ray strikes a reflecting or refracting surface. The angle is measured at the boundary, or interface, between two media, such as the core and cladding of an optical fiber. The angle is measured from the normal, which is a right angle to the surface. See also cladding, core, critical angle, reflection, and refraction.
