ACK

ACK definition - telecom
  1. A transmission control character sent by a station indicating that it is ready to receive a transmission. In ASCII, ACK is represented by the bit pattern 0110000. See also ASCII.
  2. A positive acknowledgement that a message, block, or frame has been received without error across a communications circuit, that the data set can be erased from buffer memory, and that the next data set can be sent. See also block, circuit, data set, frame, message, NAK, and station.
