access circuit

access circuit definition - telecom
An access circuit is one used to gain access to, or entry to, a Wide Area Network (WAN) or Metropolitan Area Network (MAN). An access circuit usually is described as a local loop that connects a customer premises to a switch, router, multiplexer, or other device at the edge of the carrier or service provider network. See also local loop and transport circuit.
