802.17 definition - telecom
The IEEE Working Group on Resilient Packet Ring (RPR) Access Method and Physical Layer Specifications. RPR standards address the resilient and efficient transfer of data packets over fiber optic local, metropolitan and wide area networks (LANs, MANs, and WANs) at rates scalable to many Gbps.
