Super Bowl indicator

A theory that if a team from the pre-1970 American Football League wins the Super Bowl, the stock market will decline during the coming year, and that if a team from the pre-merger National Football League wins the Super Bowl, the stock market will be higher by the end of the year. The prominence of the Super Bowl Indicator has declined in recent years as expansion teams that didn’t exist during those periods become more prominent.
