(säˌrə-mäˈgo͝o), José Born 1922.
Portuguese writer especially noted for his novels, which include Country of Sin (1947), Baltasar and Blimunda (1982), and The Stone Raft (1986). He was awarded the 1998 Nobel Prize for literature.
