(rĭbˈən-trŏpˌ, -trôpˌ), Joachim von 1893-1946.
German diplomat who as minister of foreign affairs (1938-1945) helped negotiate the German-Soviet Nonaggression Pact of 1939. He was convicted of war crimes at Nuremberg and hanged.
