- a soft, plastic mixture of finely powdered chalk and linseed oil, used to secure glass panes, fill small cracks, etc.
- any substance like this in consistency, use, etc.
- putty powder
- a cement of quicklime and water, mixed with plaster of Paris or sand for use as a finishing coat in plastering
