pulse shaping Telecom Definition
The process of forming an electromagnetic pulse so that it conforms to upper and lower system limits with respect to amplitude or frequency. For example, Bluetooth and DECT radio systems employ Gaussian frequency-shift keying (GFSK) to smooth out frequency deviations by limiting their spectral width. See also amplitude, Bluetooth, DECT, GFSK, frequency, pulse, pulse shape, and spectral width.
