An asymmetric encryption method with a freely available RSA encryption (encoding) key specific to each receiver that can be used by any sender and a decryption (decoding) key that is kept secret by the receiver. Public key encryption is available freely on the Internet via a program known as Pretty Good Privacy (PGP). See also encryption, key, PGP, private key encryption, RSA, and security.
