priced into Finance Definition
A
future event that the market has already anticipated in the price of an
investment. Traders say that the event has been priced
into the market or the prices of a stock. For instance, the stock market
may trade lower on the anticipation that an unemployment report will show
strong growth and make the Federal Reserve raise interest rates. When the
report is released, there will be limited reaction in the market because the
report has been priced into the market already.
