Writing Your Name as it Sounds
The five vowels are pronounced as they are in Europe:
a is pronounced ah
e is pronounced ay (bay)
i is pronounced ee
u is pronounced oo (no y)
o is pronounced ow (bow)
Be careful of S's pronounced [z]
X is pronounced [ks] or [z]
Omit silent letters and write soft c's and g's as "s" and "j".
Some Examples
John = Jan (silent consonants)
George = Jorj (soft G's) but
Gordon = Gordan (hard G's)
Joyce = Joys (soft c, silent e) but
Cary = Kery or Kary (hard c)
Kathy = Katy (no th, no ae sound)
Jane = Jen (silent e's)
Ronald = Ranald (o pronounced ah)
James = Jemz (a pronounced ay)
