(pĕn-dĕlˈĭ-kŏnˌ, pĕnˌdĕ-lē-kônˈ)

A mountain, about 1,119 m (3,670 ft) high, of east-central Greece northeast of Athens. White marble quarried here was used for many of the buildings of ancient Athens.
