Paki

noun

Offensive; Pakistani, Indian, Bangladeshi, Afghan, Iranian and other people of South Asian Decent.

History - In the 1950's many Pakistanis, Indians and other people of south asian decent immigrated to Britain. This arrival of the south asians, sometimes known as the 'asian invasion' made the citizens of Britain feel threatened by their coming. The BNP (British National Party) used the term paki numerous number of times in a disapproving manner not just to people of Pakistani origin, but Indians, Afghans, Bangladeshis, Iranians etc. Their intentions as a racist neo-nazi party was to eliminate as they call them 'foreign mussie filth' and stop immigration from South Asian countries. After 9/11 there were racist attacks in many places in Britain against asian people, supposedly by neo-nazi white supremisists. This is when the term 'paki' was thrown around a lot more at asian people in a derogetory manner. E.G. - 'the smelly paki should go back to his country'. 'that paki stinks of curry'. 'the pakis are the scum of the earth'.

Since then, the word 'paki' is percieved to be a racist term for all South Asians.
