Ningxia Huizu

(nĭngˈshyäˈ hwēˈdzo͞oˈ) also Ning·sia Hui (hwēˈ)

An autonomous region of northern China. Formerly a province, it was incorporated into Gansu in 1954 but reconstituted as a region in 1958. Yinchuan is the capital. Population: 5,480,000.
