Narmada

(nər-mŭdˈə) also Nar·ba·da (-bŭdˈə)

A river of central India flowing about 1,247 km (775 mi) westward to the Gulf of Khambhat. Sacred to Hindus, it is said to have sprung from the body of the god Shiva.
