zymogenic cell definition - medical
zy·mo·gen·ic cell (zīˌmə-jĕnˈĭk)
noun A cell that forms and secretes an enzyme, especially a secretory cell that lines the lumen of the gastric glands of the stomach or a pepsin-secreting acinar cell of the pancreas. Also called chief cell, peptic cell.
