noun An infectious tropical disease caused by an arbovirus transmitted by mosquitoes of the genera Aedes, especially A. aegypti and Haemagogus, and characterized by high fever, jaundice, and vomit that is dark in color as a result of gastrointestinal hemorrhaging.
