vis·cer·o·skel·e·ton (vĭsˌə-rō-skĕlˈĭ-tn)
noun- A bony formation in an organ, as in the heart, tongue, or penis.
- The part of the skeleton protecting the viscera, such as the rib cage and the pelvic bones. Also called splanchnoskeleton.
