Familial hyperlipoproteinemia characterized by increased serum concentrations of chylomicrons, pre-low-density lipoproteins, and triglycerides that are considered to be the result of a combination of fat and carbohydrate-induced hyperlipemia. It is marked by atherosclerosis, paroxysms of abdominal pain, enlargement of the spleen and liver, and abnormal glucose tolerance. Also called combined fat and carbohydrate-induced hyperlipemia, familial hyperchylomicronemia with hyperprebetalipoproteinemia.
