noun An artery with origin in the superficial temporal artery, with distribution to the parotid gland, parotid duct, masseter muscle, and overlying skin; and with anastomoses to the infraorbital and buccal branches of the maxillary artery, and the buccal and masseteric branches of the facial artery.
