tinea versicolor definition - medical
tinea ver·si·col·or (vûrˌsĭ-kŭlˈər)
noun An eruption of tan or brown, branny patches on the skin of the trunk, caused by the fungus Pityrosporum furfur and often appearing white in contrast with hyperpigmented skin after exposure to intense sunlight. Also called pityriasis versicolor.
