noun
A tumor derived from ovarian mesenchyme and consisting chiefly of spindle-shaped cells that frequently contain small droplets of fat; it may form considerable quantities of estrogens, causing development of secondary sexual features in prepubertal girls or endometrial hyperplasia in older individuals. Also called theca-cell tumor.
