sym·bi·o·sis (sĭmˌbē-ōˈsĭs, -bī-)
noun pl. sym·bi·o·ses (-sēz)- A close, prolonged association between two or more different organisms of different species that may, but does not necessarily, benefit each member.
- A relationship of mutual benefit or dependence.
