spina bifida definition - medical
spina bif·i·da (bĭfˈĭ-də)
noun A congenital defect in which the spinal column is imperfectly closed so that part of the meninges or spinal cord may protrude, often resulting in neurological disorders. Also called hydrocele spinalis.
