pyr·i·dine (pĭrˈĭ-dēnˌ)
noun A flammable, colorless or yellowish liquid base that results from the dry distillation of organic matter containing nitrogen, has a penetrating odor, and is used in analytical chemistry and in the manufacture of various drugs and vitamins.
