pubiotomy definition - medical
pu·bi·ot·o·my (pyo͞oˌbē-ŏtˈə-mē)
noun Surgical severance of the pubic bone a few centimeters lateral to the symphysis, especially to increase the capacity of a contracted pelvis sufficiently to permit the passage of a fetus during childbirth. Also called pelviotomy.
